Strolling the Site

Architecture at this end of the site is beginning to look like the later architecture seen at Uxmal and along the Ruta Puuc

House of the Deer
Puuc Architectural Style built 800-900 A.D

Named because of the remains of some murals inside

Chichanchob
Puuc Architectural Style built 800-900 A.D
Notice the layered structure and the roof comb

Chichanchob means "little holes". The name was given to the structure because of the small holes on the crest of the roof. The building was also known as the "Red House" because of the red paint which can still be seen in frescos in the inside chamber.
