As you travel the globe, it's worth the time to look in one's own backyard for adventure and frontier.  Look to Alaska and you need look no further.  A few short flight hours from Dallas (and a few more from Chicago) and we find ourselves at the doorway of million-year old glaciers, wildlife and flora the likes of which are not seen in the lower 48, and within touch of the giants that roam the seas.
